Dear lovely readers
If you saw my newsletter last week, you will realise this is the second week in the series of my Imposter Syndrome videos and hence here is the second video giving the second tip.
However, if you missed last weeks issue and want to see the Week 1 video you can do so here
Imposter Syndrome is something of a pet subject for me - I struggled with it for decades - so I’ve learnt a bit more and more research to understand why it happens and what we can do about it. So, for the next couple of months I’m going to talking all about that on all my social media channels, which includes my Linked In account, Instagram and Facebook page .
I’ve produced a series of 5 videos, each covering a different hack that I’ve used and benefitted from. And, if you’ll bear with me, over the next 5 editions I’ll include that video each issue.
However, can I just add a caveat? Watching this video won’t cure you immediately of any self doubt you have. In fact. nothing will, not even the best therapist/psychologist in the world. The truth is that the brain mechanisms that make us feel inferior are both embedded in our brain (it’s connected with the prehistoric brain - it hasn’t learnt to adapt to modern life) and the same with the values that we learnt when we were really small and not able to filter out stuff that doesn’t serve us. Even those who had an idyllic upbringing, and I don’t know many of those, do you?
So, enough of the bad news. Although Imposter Syndrome isn’t something you can’t rid yourself of, you CAN turn down the volume. But, be aware, like anything worthwhile, it’s not immediate, it takes practice and commitment.
So, if you’re ready, here’s video #2. I hope it helps - I’d love to know what you think.
See you next time for Video #3.
Stay well and safe until then
