Hello there, lovely readers!
Well, it’s almost here! The weeks of planning, saving and shopping are nearly done and next Monday, it will be the big day.
And this will be the final newsletter of 2024.
I’m not going to do an in depth review of the year. My highlights and low points of the year probably won’t be the same as yours. And we will all have had our personal (and probably professional) challenges.
I can honestly say there’s been very few people I’ve spoken to this year who haven’t had a mare of a year. I know I have - a big professional loss this year sent me into a bit of a spiral and I’m nowhere near where I was. But, out of the trauma, I’ve made a huge pivot and I will be starting 2024 pursuing something very different professionally.
It’s a bit scary, because the professional status I enjoyed for 9 years is being thrown to one side and I’m going down very different avenues. And one of the avenues concerns developing my 45 Not Out brand, big style! Up until now, it’s been a passion project. And it will continue to be where my heart is, but I intend to turn it into a viable business in the coming year.
Of course, it’s early days in this and the final plan isn’t absolutely drawn up as yet, but rest assured I will keep you in the picture.
Exciting and scary at the same time! Wish me luck
So how was your year? Was it badly affected by the Cost of Living crisis? Have you suffered due to the NHS or railway strikes? Or just the general dark cloud we are living with currently in the UK. With an inept and corrupt government we have in power currently, I hope that General Election we are expecting in 2024 brings forward a party who makes inroads into the current mess we are. But, it won’t be an overnight job - we will need patience to appreciate the small changes this new party will make and understand that any significant change will come - just not immediately.
So, a short newsletter this time. I just want to thank you for staying with me over the years I’ve been writing the newsletter. It means a lot that you read it and I hope it resonates with you.
All that’s left for me to do is to wish you a restful, joyful and thoroughly enjoyable Christmas and New Year. I hope you spend the time with the people you most enjoy spending time with and memories are made.
I’ll see you in 2024.
Take care till then,
Una x
