Hi there,
Well, Autumn’s well and truly here! Odd evenings with the heating on and, being a bit positive about it, the high quality stuff on the TV! Anybody else got totally hooked on “Night Sleeper” on BBC1? I did! It’s finished now but if you’re looking for a gripping the edge of your seat thriller series, it’s worth a watch on iPlayer. I’ll say no more for fear of issuing too many spoilers ;)
One of the things that Autumn seems to bring me is a disruption to my sleep. Those of you who know my story will now that I’ve had major sleep issues previously where I suffered from full blown insomnia for 4 years. And I tried anything and everything to cure my sleep, and, finally, I found a few things that helped to very gradually restore my good sleep.
So, how do you sleep? One of the things that scientific research into sleep is finding, is that not only can poor sleep affect our energy, but also a vast slew of health related issues.
So, resulting from my 4 years sojourn in trying solutions (mostly scientifically backed) I’ve created an e-book that’s available on Etsy based on the methods I rated, tried and assessed how well they worked.
In the book I’ve listed the tricks that I found, the science behind them, and included the things that worked alongside the ones that didn’t. And it’s also been beautifully illustrated by Jayne Newby of Written Treasures :)
But, just to give you a taster about the book, here’s a bit more information about sleep and why it’s so important. Hope it helps :)
The importance of sleep for hormonal balance: How sleep plays a crucial role in regulating hormones like estrogen and progesterone.
The link between sleep and weight management: Why getting enough sleep is essential for maintaining a healthy weight.
How to improve your sleep quality: Practical tips and techniques to help you fall asleep faster and sleep more soundly.
Did you know? A recent study published in the Journal of Sleep Research found that women over 45 who prioritize sleep are less likely to experience anxiety and depression. Food for thought, eh?
So, that’s my first newsletter on sleep. In the next one on I’ll be diving more deeply into this difficult thing called sleep :)
Wishing you restful nights until then
