Dear lovely readers.
I hope you are well and managing to make the most of this gorgeous summer weather that is 3 months late! Talk about a last hurrah. Being the cynic I am makes me think it won’t last long, but hey - let’s just enjoy it whilst it’s here shall we…?
In the last issue of the newsletter I talked about September feeling like it’s an opportunity to make a new start or put some goals and objectives in place. Do you feel like that too?
So, what goals have you set? Are they work-related or personal? Or are you organised enough that you have some in either court?
I’m not that organised, but I have set myself some personal (or rather home related goals) as opposed to just being work related (as most of my goals usually are).
So, rather than bore you to tears with some work related goals and ambitions, here’s some stuff I want to get done in the remaining months of the year.
There’s a dark pine bookcase on the landing at the top of the stairs in my house. I cringe every time I walk past it. The dark pine is so “last century” and I’d love to paint it a gentle pastel green (almost duck egg blue) to match with the decor upstairs. I’ve been wanting to get it down for almost a year now, and it’s sat on our landing admonishing me every time I pass it for not getting on with it. The truth is I lack a bit of confidence in how to do it, so I’ve just put it to one side. But, I’ve set myself a goal of getting it done by Christmas or even earlier. If I get it done, I’ll put a picture on here proving I’ve done it. You have my permission to hold me to account ;)
Quite a few times over the last year I’ve started taking a 30 minute walk first thing in the morning. There’s a few reasons for this - it’s recommended as a good way to get your metabolism working early in the day plus getting daylight that early helps to re-set your circadian rhythm. I’ve done this in fits and starts - doing it for a few weeks at a time - then abandoning it. So, with these benefits (and possibly loads more) I’m going to stick with it for the next few months. Again, something I’ll report back on to you all - as a means of keeping myself on track.
So, what goals, if any, are you setting yourself? Is there anything you want to have in place as the Christmas season hits us?
Wishing you well with any goals you may have. Let us know how you get on…
Have you heard about my joint “All Sassy Ladies” event held on the 27th September at 8.00pm in Holmes Chapel in Cheshire? No? Well, would you welcome a chance to mingle with women (with a drink in your hand!) with the same mindset as you and hear from the mega inspiring Dame Pat Bacon ? You would? Well, there’s still chance to get your ticket for the 45 Not Out joint event with Kate Blakemore - Kate is equally as big an advocate for women as I am. We extend a warm welcome to you all and would love to have you there. Tickets are still available here
So that’ll be a wrap from me. Enjoy what’s left of this Indian Summer we are experiencing and stay safe & well
Till next time
Take care,
Una x
