Hello again, lovely readers!
I hope this episode finds you well and thrashing through your month? And January is almost over - who knew? I hope it treated you well.
For this newsletter, I’m continuing on my RESILIENCE theme and how we can make ourselves stronger for our future years.
I gave you a few tips on how to build your own resilience in my last newsletter. If you missed it, you can revisit it here .
So, what have I got for you in this issue? Weeeellll…..
I’m diving into a topic that's close to my heart and crucial for our continued growth and resilience: trusting our own innate wisdom.
As we navigate the rich tapestry of midlife and beyond, it's easy to fall into the habit of seeking everyone else's opinion on our challenges. But today, I want to remind you of the incredible resource you already possess – your own life experience and inner guidance.
Throughout our lives, we've faced countless obstacles, made difficult decisions, and learned invaluable lessons. These experiences have shaped us into the strong, capable women we are today. Yet, how often do we find ourselves turning to others for advice before consulting our own inner wisdom? While outside perspectives can be helpful, constantly seeking external validation can undermine our confidence and resilience.By tuning into our own intuition and trusting the wisdom we've accumulated over the years, we build a stronger foundation for resilience.
This doesn't mean isolating ourselves or rejecting all advice; rather, it's about recognizing and valuing our own insights first. When we face challenges, take a moment to reflect on similar situations you've overcome in the past.
What strategies worked? What did you learn? Your personal history is a goldmine of solutions waiting to be tapped.
Embracing this approach not only helps us solve problems more effectively but also reinforces our self-reliance and confidence. Each time we trust our judgment and successfully navigate a situation, we grow stronger and more resilient. This resilience becomes a powerful tool as we continue to embrace new adventures and challenges in our lives.
Fab thought, eh? And your mission for this fortnight until the next newsletter, should you choose to accept it (apologies to Mr Cruise), is to try and get into the habit of searching through your own experiences when you next find yourself in a bit of mire. And I’d love to know how you get on - reply to this newsletter and it will find me :)
If you’ll allow me, I’d just like to remind you that the new, private monthly subscription Facebook group launches next Wednesday 29th. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time - give subscription members a place where we hit a deeper dive into issues that face as mid-life and older women at this point in time.
The subscription will include exclusive access to a bi-monthly online webinar/interview with an expert who can talk with authority about their subject and offer hacks and advice to make life that little bit easier. It will also include more content on each of the monthly themes and look a little closer at things. As well as offering the usual supportive community that has been something of a highlight of the existing 45 Not Out free Facebook group.
The waitlist for this is still in existence, and if you’d like to be at the front of the queue when the group launches next week (and with an exclusive member lifetime price) then you can join the waitlist here
That’ll be a wrap from me for another issue. I hope the tip in this edition helps you navigate those tricky times we all will face - that’s a given. As I said above, let me know how these work for you.
So, I’ll see you for the next edition in a fortnight’s time
Till then
