Hello lovely readers
I hope you are well and life is treating you well.
Isn’t it encouraging seeing signs of Spring everywhere now. I saw a full drift of snowdrops yesterday and near me a few hardy daffodils are out, but not yet seeing drifts of “golden daffodils” as yet.
In this edition of the newsletter, I’m not writing about a topic.
I want to ask for your thoughts on the newsletter and where I take it next, if anywhere.
And, this is the perfect time to just say thank you to those of you who have been with me since the start. I started the newsletter in 2020 and have been churning one out either every fortnight or, more recently, every week ever since.
So, rather than crash on THINKING I know what you lovely readers want and need, I thought it was time I asked you.
As noted above, rather than write on my usual rambling posts, I just want to ask you all a few questions. It won’t take long - just a few questions in a poll and you can be rest assured that I won’t see who votes on what. It’s anonymous and all I will be able to see is the statistics of each question.
So here goes….

FREQUENCY
The first thing I want to ask you about is frequency. Would you rather have the newsletter fortnightly (slightly longer, with maybe a couple of different features, rather than just one main one) or to remain with the weekly issue which is shorter and concentrates on one issue that affects us at this time of life
FORMAT
The second thing I want to ask is how you prefer to digest the newsletter. Up until now I’ve always done a text newsletter, but there is provision within the Substack platform (where this newsletter is based) to issue a video instead. Would that be more convenient to digest the content of the newsletter?
PAYMENT
Substack is very much set up to be a paid-for content platform. This feature comes with every Substack account that is registered. I’ve considered it, and at times have asked for reader support, but to date, I don’t have any paying subscribers.
Now I love doing the newsletter, and I hope it adds something to your life, but it does take time and at some point I would like to earn a bit of something for my time. So, before I make any radical changes, I’m throwing the floor open to you.
Again, all responses are anonymous and I won’t see who has voted for what - just the results. So please be honest.
Now, I know this is all a bit of a big ask. But I think before I go any further, I need to check in with you all. It should only take you about 10 minutes tops to complete this and if it means that the newsletter moves a bit to include a way that’s easier for you, isn’t it worthwhile?
So, if you have or will be completing my survey, I’m extremely grateful and I will seriously look at the results and make any changes that you’ve suggested.
Basically, watch this space!
